NOMEX HONEYCOMB

Nomex Honeycomb Composites Fabricated Lighter and Stronger for Aviation!

Nomex honeycomb composite helps provide lightweight strength, stiffness, toughness, corrosion resistance and other attributes, which bring high value-in-use to industries such as aviation and aerospace.

For over 20 years, Texas Almet has embraced and processed Nomex® honeycomb composite made from Nomex HexWeb®. Simply for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio which helps to provide vital cost-effective benefits like fuel consumption savings and payload increases for aviation. Stiff, thin Nomex® honeycomb composite sheet structures are used to help make strong, yet lightweight, honeycomb sandwich components found in aircraft parts such flooring panels, interior walls, storage bins, exterior control surfaces, engine nacelles, helicopter blades and tail booms.

HexWeb® and Nomex honeycomb composites provided exceptional stiffness and strength with little added weight for aerospace and industry as well. This type of honeycomb Nomex® composite is a lightweight core material that is available in a variety of cell sizes and densities. It provides a wide range of mechanical and thermal properties imperative for fabricating aviation parts. The Nomex® honeycomb components provide a unique structure made from a wide variety of web materials including thermoplastic, fiberglass, carbon, aluminum and aramid mechanical papers.

Texas Almet along with Hexcel HexWeb® Nomex® honeycomb composites provides and processes a wide variety of structural Nomex® honeycomb to the aerospace industry. Today we process large varieties with new versions being continually developed to meet our customers’ demands. Additionally, Nomex® Honeycomb is an outstanding core material for sandwich structures, an efficient energy absorber and excellent for use in airflow control surfaces for aviation.
